Covid-19: War room goes virtual after officer tests positive in Jaipur

JAIPUR: The state-level war room at the secretariat went virtual after one officer tested positive for Covid-19.
An officer was found to be corona positive on May 29 at the corona war room at the Secretariat. The war room will continue to function in a virtual manner. Earlier, officers and employees were working in the 8-hours shift in the war room, but now it has gone virtual, according to the shift, said Abhay Kumar, principal secretary, Information Technology.
Kumar said, “Since other officers and employees had to be quarantined, they have been working from home in the IT virtual war room. Only minimum officers and employees were going to the workplace.”
Commissioner, Information Technology, Virendra Singh said that a three-tier structure of work arrangement has been created under the IT virtual war room. First, the managementunder which the officers were given the responsibility to monitor the functioning of the online war rooms through various inbuilt dashboards and systems.
Singh said that under the system monitoring at the second level, RAS and RPS officers have been entrusted with the responsibility of working as groups at district war rooms through various types of reporting - phone calls, WhatsApp for monitoring. They have been given the option of either work from home or they could also supervise their respective workplace as required. He said that in the third tier, personnel have been given the responsibility to work in three ways, work from home, war room or from office according to their convenience.
