Extended weekend for govt employees

The state secretariat and state government offices wore a deserted look as most employees seemed to have opted for a leave on Friday to avail of an extended holiday to celebrate Holi. Unlike central government employees who had only one-day holiday on Thursday, the state government employees had two days’ holiday (Wednesday and Thursday).
An employees’ union leader said, with model code of conduct in force, only routine works are on.So, the officials and employees have opted for an extended weekend before the hectic election duty begins.
