Jaipur: Gang duped many with ‘magic mirror’, paintings

JAIPUR: City police on Friday revealed that the gang which was duping people in the name of selling radioactive material also conned many with other items like ‘magic mirror and spectacles’, antique paintings as well as ‘onyx necklaces with magical powers’.
Four cases of fraud have been registered against the gang and their accounts have been frozen.
Out of the four cases registered, one is for conning an Indore-based businessman for Rs 4.80 crore, while another one for duping businessman in Hyderabad for Rs 5.55 crore; a case also for defrauding a Kolkata man of Rs 3.09 crore and a Jaipur-based resident of Rs 2.50 crore.
Police commissioner Anand Shrivastava elaborating on the investigation said, “Teams raided the accused’s various residences and farmhouses where a large number of paintings, mirrors etc were found. Police team also searched the accused’s properties in Mumbai, Indore, Delhi and Ghaziabad where they found for more evidence.”
