Girl gang-raped in Jaipur, two held

JAIPUR: A 21-year-old girl alleged that she was gang-raped by two youths inside her paying guest accommodation, on Friday, under the limits of Shipra Path police station area. The police have arrested the accused Shiv Ram(22), a student of agricultural science, and Om Prakash(20), a student of nursing, on Sunday.
“The girl has been preparing for competitive exams in Jaipur for past few months.She alleged that the two accused lived next to her room. On Friday, the accused barged into her room and allegedly took turns to rape her,” said Surendra Yadav, SHO, Shipra Path.
Yadav told TOI that the police searched for the whereabouts of the two accused and arrested them. “We are investigating the matter. We will record the survivor’s statements and quiz the two accused,” he said. The police said that the survivor told them that she was petrified after the incident.
“Since, it was a very sensitive matter we set up a team to nail down the accused. Efforts are underway to file an early chargesheet into the case, the official informed TOI.
