JAIPUR: After the government on Sunday night approved five per cent reservation for the most backward classes (MBCs) in the RPSC examination to be held on June 25, Himmat Singh-led Gujjar faction on Monday said that the representation of the most backward class, mainly women, in the examination is much less than what it should be.
He further demanded that the RAS examination must be cancelled and the candidates must be given at least 45 days to prepare for the exam.
He also said if the candidates belonging to MBC are not given proper representation in RAS (Rajasthan Administrative Service) examination, they will launch a state-wide agitation.
Alleging that Kirori Singh Bainsla's agitation was influenced by BJP supporters, Singh said that the meeting with the ministerial committee on June 18 remained inconclusive as his supporters indulged in a "hungama" and no solution came out of it. Singh also demanded an inquiry into the release of figures by the government for the mains exam, which states 627 candidates (562 males and 65 females) belonging to MBC can appear for the test.
However, Singh claimed the actual number of MBC males is 495 and MBC females is 240, taking the total number of candidates to 735. He also alleged that none of the new candidates has received the permission letter to appear for the test. "Chief minister Ashok Gehlot had assured us of filling all the 2,300 pending vacancies and to give us justice. He had also asked his principal secretary to look into the matter. Our delegation was supposed to meet the officials yesterday. But, the RPSC gave false figures of the MBC candidates and the Bainsla-led faction was satisfied with it. The officials are trying to mislead the government on the MBC figures," he said.
He further said that the reserved seats for the MBCs in RAS should be 49 instead of 36. Singh also urged the chief minister to personally look into the issue of filling the reserved posts in REET ( Rajasthan Eligibility Exam for Teachers) and nursing examinations.
“CM had assured of solution to the problem. The government should not take our Gandhian agitation so lightly. There is no question of joining hands with Bainsla group ” he added.
