Jaipur’s first government English medium school in Mansarovar from July 1

JAIPUR: Private English medium schools always hog limelight. However, this time, it is the turn of the state government whose first English medium school will come up in Mansarovar in Jaipur from July 1, 2019. To celebrate the 150 years of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary, directorate of education, Bikaner has issued orders a few days back to open one English medium school in every district headquarters called as Mahatama Gandhi Government School.To open an English medium school, new building will not be constructed but ones already functioning as government school will be converted for the purpose.
Ram Chandra Pilania, district education officer of Jaipur, said, “We have received orders to convert the government school into English medium one. The students already studying will be shifted to different schools and new admission will start. We have chosen a school that has less enrolment so that more students will not get affected due to the change in process. This school has just 15 students who will be given enough time to adjust.”
As per the guidelines issued, the English medium school will be from Class 1 to 12 after its selection. Only that school will be converted that has its own building with all the facilities like furniture, classrooms, toilets, teachers appointed. New teachers will be appointed for the school through interview including the principal of the school. An official said that everything has to be done keeping in mind about the focus of the project which is to develop English medium school’s in the state at the time when studies in English is in trend and people are spending lakhs of rupees to get their child English medium studies as it is helpful in all stages of life.
