JAIPUR: Congress candidate from the Jaipur parliamentary seat Jyoti Khandelwal and Pradesh Congress Committee secretary Dhoop Singh Poonia were served show-cause notices by the All India Congress Committee (AICC) for publically airing their grievances against the party leaders. The party has sought an explanation from both the leaders who were asked to reply in seven days.

Since the Lok Sabha debacle various Congress leaders, MLAs and others were into mudslinging against each other and were showing their annoyance of defeat on public platform. Both the leaders received the notice through registered post on Sunday.
Jyoti Khandelwal had alleged that media chairperson of Congress party in Rajasthan, Archana Sharma and her husband Somendra Sharma conspired to defeat her in the Lok Sabha elections. Poonia on the other hand had posted on the social networking platforms and alleged that PCC president and deputy CM Sachin Pilot has no time for party workers.
Cognizance was taken by the party high command on the action of these leaders in a scenario where AICC general secretary and in-charge Avinash Pandey had specifically told Congressmen in Rajasthan not to air their public opinion on the disastrous defeat of the party.
When contacted, Poonia confirming the notice, said, “Many others had raised questions after party’s defeat but why is the serving of notices so selective. In my reply I am going to give reference of other statements. What I said was constructive criticism.”
