Jaipur: Notice to Dargah panel over code violation

JAIPUR: The Dargah Committee (DC) of 12th century shrine of Khawaja Gharib Nawaz in Ajmer was issued a show-cause notice by the local administration seeking the latter’s response on the allegation of the violation of poll code conduct.
Acting on a complaint by the Ajmer district Congress, the Ajmer ADM Arvind Kumar Sengva slapped notices on the CEO Shakil Ahmed and president of Dargah Committee Amin Pathan on Monday.

Ajmer Congress had complaint to the Election Commission that Pathan and other members of misusing the dargah office during the annual Urs for garnering support for the BJP. The complaint read that Pathan and eight members of the DC had availed rooms in the dargah guest which is a property of DC. Pathan being the active member of BJP tantamount to the violation of poll code as the DC is a unit comes under the government of India.
“Pathan had indiscriminately used the DC vehicle/car for himself and for ferrying BJP members even after the code in place,” read the complaint. ADM Arvind Kumar Seghva told TOI, “The notices were served to the CEO and the president seeking details of the stay of Pathan and other members. They were also to reveal that who all have stayed at the dargah guest house for free." The DC was given three days to submit their reply. TOI called the Dargah Nazin Ahmed but got no response.
