Pension for differently abled increased

The state’s social justice and empowerment department on Monday increased the old-age pension for differently abled persons to Rs 1,000 per month for men (58 and above) and women (55 and above) and Rs 1,250 per month for those above 75 years old.

JAIPUR: The state’s social justice and empowerment department on Monday increased the old-age pension for differently abled persons to Rs 1,000 per month for men (58 and above) and women (55 and above) and Rs 1,250 per month for those above 75 years old.
According to a social justice and empowerment department statement, those males and females below 58 and 55, respectively would get Rs 750 per month, as per previous norm.
Earlier, the pension for differently abled persons was flat Rs 750 for all the categories. The pension for leprosy patients continues to be Rs 1,500 per month. Earlier, after Congress came to power in the state, the pension for men (58 and above) and women (55 and above) was increased from Rs 500 to Rs 750 and for those who are above 75 years, pension was increased from Rs 750 to Rs 1,000. The pension was also increased for widows.
