JAIPUR: The Ashok Gehlot government in the state is likely to reward the leaders with political appointments to various boards and corporations soon to consolidate his position in the party and government. Sources said, the political appointments will begin with change at the helm of the party organization in the state.
The present state Congress president and deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot will give way to a new leader as the party state president if he wishes to retain his ministerial berth as the party will strictly adhere to the principle of ‘one person one post’ in the coming days.

With Sonia Gandhi taking the guard of the party at the national level, chief minister Ashok Gehlot is said to have strengthened his position in the party and he will further consolidate his position by rewarding leaders with political appointments to keep them happy. Sachin will help the chief minister to further consolidate and change the perception of ‘two power centres’ in the party.
There are about 35 boards/commissions/committees where the government could oblige party leaders. Rewarding the leaders with posts and perks would send a message of party leaders getting participation in the government.
Sources said, the chief minister will start the process of appointments by the end of this month while the constitutional post given priority.
Sources said, the changes in the party organization are expected after the big show planned for former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi’s 75th birth anniversary celebration in Delhi on August 22.
The party is leaving no stone unturned to make the event a grand success as it will kick off the second coming of Sonia Gandhi at the helm of affairs and would act as a morale booster to the demoralized party workers.
