JAIPUR: Rajasthan High Court has issued notice to the state government and CBI in case of rape of 15-year-old a minor girl in Dholpur district over the demand for a CBI probe.
The family of the victim alleged that on July 8, 2018, their daughter was drugged, gang-raped and murdered two days later by Ayan Khan and his friends. Ayan Khan is the son of deputy chairman of the municipal council Ayub Khan.
They have alleged that due to political pressure, post-mortem of the victim was not taken in to account the rape incident. Two days after the incident, police registered the FIR and after seven days arrested the accused. Family alleged that they were threatened by the police several times to take back their complaint against the accused. Hence, the family of the victim is demanding CBI inquiry of the case fearing, that due to political pressure state police would not be able to conduct a proper investigation tin to the case.
‘Notice over house registration’
Rajasthan High Court issued notice to Rajasthan Housing Board (RHB) over selective renewal of registration of houses after it was lapsed. The single bench of Justice V S Siradhana issued notice on a petition by Bhagwati Sahay Sharma, a retired deputy director at the ayurveda department. Lalit Sharma, counsel for the petitioner, said that the petitioner had registered for an MIG-B category house with the Housing Board in 1982. A lottery was drawn for the houses in the same year and his priority number was 2,912. In 2003, the housing board directed the applicant to deposit Rs 1.2 lakh in three instalments within 13 months, but the petitioner was unable to do so and his registration was cancelled. Then the petitioner filed a revival of his registration as per a scheme. But according to the petitioner, the housing board did not entertain his claim while favouring many others.
‘Verify claim on napkin machines’
High court on Monday asked the secretary Rajasthan Legal Service Authority (RLSA) to verify the claim of the state government that sanitary napkin dispensing machines were installed in jails. The division bench of Chief Justice Pradeep Nandrajog and G R Moochandani was hearing a suo motu petition. The government said, the court ordered to install sanitary napkin dispensing machines in the women’s jail. But the amicus curie Sumati Vishnoi demanded that an enquiry be conducted on the claim of the government. The court then directed secretary Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority to verify the claim of the government by the District Legal Services Authority and submit its report within six weeks.
