JAIPUR: Even after extending the admission process for two days, Rajasthan University has failed to cross the number of applications received by it in last five years. Figures say that RU has received a total of 40,599 online forms against the average of about 55,000 forms in last five years.

After closing the admission date on June 10, RU has reopened it for two days on June 13-14.
The move was taken to increase the number of applications from 35,939. “If it has not rung the alarm bells of the authorities than nothing can. It shows that students have rejected the RU, once the most sought after university and its constituent colleges,” said an RU official. The biggest drop was seen in the Commerce and Rajasthan College. Naveen Mathur, former principal of the Commerce College said, “If you don’t change with the time you will bound to perish. RU has failed to introduced new courses along with a diploma and certificate programs which are a rage among the students. The absence of any new addition has dissuaded the students from the RU.”
RU has not introduced any new course in the last five years while the private colleges and universities have been introducing new courses almost every year.
