JAIPUR: The Jaipur police on Thursday arrested a senior
Madhya Pradesh police officer based on an FIR filed by a city-based woman in 2014, accusing the cop of raping and blackmailing her.
DCP (Jaipur south) Yogesh Dadhich informed TOI that a local court in the city had issued a warrant against
Anil Kumar Mishra. “We executed the warrant and arrested Mishra from
Bhopal. He has been sent to judicial custody,” he added.
Mishra was formerly posted as additional inspector general in Madhya Pradesh’s Central Investigation Department.
In her complaint with the city’s women police station in 2014, the woman had alleged that officer Mishra not only repeatedly raped her at police guest houses and hotels in several cities, but also clicked photographs of her. She also alleged that Mishra extorted nearly Rs 10 lakh from her after she came into contact with him after the arrest of her husband in MP.
“The woman lived in Jaipur and had come in contact with Mishra in 2011. Her husband used to organize seminars in
Madhya Pradesh to lure people into investing in his multi-level marketing company,” an official said, adding that that Mishra used to attend these seminars.
When her husband’s company turned out to be a fraud, the Madhya Pradesh police arrested him and it was then that the woman directly came into contact with the IPS officer. She alleged that apart from raping and sexually exploiting her in Bhopal, Mishra took her to Jodhpur, Mumbai, Goa, Delhi, Indore and some other cities where he made her stay in police guest houses and hotels and raped her.
