Sikar shivers at 3°Celsius; Jaipur sees season’s coldest morning
JAIPUR: Cold wave conditions aggravated in the state on Thursday when majority of the places witnessed minimum temperatures below the normal notch. Sikar remained coldest in the state where a minimum temperature of 3.0 degrees Celsius was recorded.
People in Sikar woke up to the coldest morning of season so far. Majority of the roads in Sikar town wore a deserted look, especially during early morning and late evening hours.
People were seen sitting near campfires to beat the shivering cold conditions.
Attributing the continued dip in the mercury to the active northerly winds the Jaipur Met office said that similar conditions will prevail in the state in the next couple of days when further dip in the mercury would be witnessed.
Jaipurites witnessed the coldest morning of the season so far as a minimum temperature of 10.3 degrees Celsius was recorded in the city. With the continued dip in the mercury people thronged Tibetian Market and other places to buy woollens. “The footfall in the past couple of days has increased. It is unusual to see such footfall in the month of November,” said a trader at the Tibetian Market.
The number of morning walkers at the Central Park has decreased due to shivering cold conditions. “On Thursday the parking lot had more space compared to other days which indicated that number of people coming for morning walk has decreased,” said a guard at the Central Park in the city.
Sikar was followed by Churu where a minimum temperature of 4.1 degrees Celsius was recorded. In its forecast the Jaipur Met office said that cold wave conditions will further aggravate in the state in the next 24 hours.
