Swine flu claims one more life in Rajasthan

JAIPUR: The state is witnessing worst swine flu outbreak since 2015. On Sunday, one more person died of swine flu in Jaipur. Since the beginning of the year, 137 infected persons have succumbed to the disease while 64 individuals tested positive for swine flu across the state on Sunday. In 2015, 6,859 persons tested positive for swine flu. In 2016, only 197 persons were found infected with the disease.
In 2017, there was a surge in number of cases as 3,619 persons were diagnosed with the disease. In 2018, the cases were slightly less in comparison to 2017 as 2,419 persons were tested positive for the disease.
Centre’s report on swine flu shows that Rajasthan is at the top of the list among states having most swine flu cases. The report has figures up to February 17. The report says that Rajasthan is at the top with 3,508 cases, followed by Delhi (2,278), Gujarat (1,983) and Uttar Pradesh (659).
