According to sources, Sharma was the incharge of Kolva police station of Dausa in 2004. A complainant from Berawas village had went to the station to lodge a case regarding sale of his motorcycle through fraudulent manner.
The cop didnt register the case and so the complainant lodged a case at the Dausa court.
The court took cognizance in the matter and directed the police station to register the complaint. However, the officer didnt adhere to the court's order and the FIR wasnt registered. The case has been pending for over 10 years. And during these years the officer got transferred and served at various places. Meanwhile, the court had issued warrants for the inspector's appearance but the cop didnt turn up even once, sources said.
Sharma came to know of the arrest warrant but perhaps didnt knew the hearing date that was scheduled for Friday. He appeared before the court on thursday which ordered him to be kept in lockup.
