East Singhbhum district administration has submitted a detailed report of the extent of damage caused by cyclone Fani, which hit Odisha, West Bengal and Jharkhand on May 3 & 4.

JAMSHEDPUR: East Singhbhum district administration has submitted a detailed report of the extent of damage caused by cyclone Fani, which hit Odisha, West Bengal and Jharkhand on May 3 & 4. In its report the administration said 10 houses have been completely damaged and 66 partially damaged in the district.
Sources further said 20 hectares of farming land in Baharagora (located in Jharkhand and Odisha border areas) have also been affected by this cyclone.
People living in Dhalbhaumgarh were also affected by this cyclone, though the damage is estimated to be lesser than neighbouring Baharagora. Standing crops have been damaged in Baharagora area.
Administration said Fani had no damaging effect in Jamshedpur, Mango, Patamda and Boram circles of the district.
In its report administration has sought compensation of Rs 3,200 for partially damaged houses and Rs 95,000 for fully damaged houses. It has also sought compensation of Rs 6,800 per hectare for farming land.
Notably, the cyclone had wreaked havoc is coastal areas of Odisha causing large scale damage of property.
