JAMSHEDPUR: East Singhbhum district administration is getting ready for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ambitious Yoga Day to be organized on June 21.
The main programme of International Yoga Day would be organized at Bistupur-based Gopal Maidan. In the connection a high-level meeting was called by deputy commissioner Amit kumar and senior superintendent of police Anup Bithre.
Sources said on Wednesday efforts are on to ensure the success of the Yoga programme starting from the district level to the panchayat level.
Sources added that a dry run of the Yoga day programme would be held on June 13 at the same venue. It would be assisted by experts of Patanjali Yogpeeth. The BDOs and block level officials of the district have been instructed to get fully prepared for the event.
Sources said an estimated 7,000 people would take part in the Yoga day programme. Among the high profile people expected to attend the event are Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato and big shots from the Steel City-based companies.
The event would begin at 6am and if there is any weather-related problems, alternative arrangements have been made to hold the event at Mohan Ahuja Stadium near Sacred Heart Convent School.
Students of Class 7 and above would be encouraged to attend the event. Schools and colleges in the district have been asked to take part in the programme.
Notably, this year PM Modi is scheduled to take part in the event at Ranchi. The event would be held at Prabhat Tara ground, where 30,000 people are expected to take part.
