Jamshedpur: Banna Gupta gets ‘show-cause notice’ from district Congress
JAMSHEDPUR: Former minister from Congress Banna Gupta was handed over a ‘show-cause notice’ by the East Singhbhum district party head Vijay Khan. Sources said former MLA from Jamshedpur west assembly seat Gupta has been instructed to give explanation on why he openly criticized party's state chief Ajoy Kumar.
Khan even alleged that Gupta had tried to tarnish the image of the party on social media. Sources said according to the ‘show-cause notice’ Gupta must give an explanation within five days.
Congress's disciplinary committee has also handed over ‘show-cause notices’ to party functionaries Pappu Singh and Shahnawaz Akthar. Pappu has been suspended from the party for six years.
Notably, after the debacle of mahagathbandhan in the recently held Lok Sabha polls, Gupta had sought for a review meeting of party’s debacle. Sources said he had questioned the performance of party's state president Ajoy Kumar in the recent polls. According to sources, Gupta said if Ajoy had taken all decisions without consulting others, he should be held responsible for the party's poor performance in the state.
Meanwhile, talking to TOI Banna Gupta denied receiving any ‘show-cause notice’. He also denied that he had posted anything against the party.
