Jamshedpur youth Congress brigade ‘backs’ Modi’s Kashmir move
JAMSHEDPUR: The decision of Modi government in connection with Kashmir has divided the Congress camp. The president of Jamshedpur youth wing Congress Sanjeev Ranjan siding with the decision said: “Kashmir is an integral part of India, so why it should have a special status’’.

on Wednesday, Ranjan came down heavily on the stone pelters of Kashmir. He said these youths enjoy all the facilities provided by the country and work against it.
They try to spread terror in the country.
Ranjan said the decision to repeal the special status was the need of the hour and it should have been taken much earlier. The functionary only differed the way the act was repealed. He said opposition should have been taken into confidence before taking this major decision, which concerns the entire country.
He said youth wants progress and this special status was a roadblock. Replying to a query on whether his stand was opposite to the Congress’, Ranjan pointed out that even party leader Jyotiradiya Scindia too had supported the Modi government’s decision in this connection. He did not feel that it was an anti-party move.
Notably, senior Congress leader Karan Singh on Thursday backed Modi’s Kashmir move.
Meanwhile, district Congress president Vijay Khan tried to ignore whole issue by saying that he was not aware of the district youth Congress’ stand over the Kashmir issue. Khan said: “Congress’ stand on this issue is that of Rahul Gandhi” adding that any other comments by any other functionary is their personal stand. He refused to acknowledge that the Kashmir issue had created differences amongst their leaders.
On the other hand a Congress functionary, on the condition of anonymity, said such differences are bound to pop up as the party is rudderless after Rahul Gandhi resigned as party chief and the post is still vacant. There is no one to issue guidelines to the lower level workers. Even the resignations of the state chiefs are pending.
