JAMSHEDPUR: After the poor performance of
Congress in
Jharkhand, state-level leaders have drawn daggers against each other.
Former state president Pradeep Balmuchu, while talking to TOI, said, "We need to seriously look into the party's dismal report card in the state and pin-point those responsible for the failure." Balmuchu, who has held the post of state party president for nine years in a row, questioned why are those Congressmen being victimized who are raising fingers at the poor show of present
state president Ajoy Kumar.
Balmuchu asked how East Singhbhum district president Vijay Khan can take disciplinary action against former state minister and ex-MLA from Jamshedpur west Banna Gupta. A tribal leader, who had represented the Ghatshila assembly seat (under Jamshedpur Lok Sabha seat) for 15 years, Balmuchu said if we do not take action against those responsible for party's failure now, in assembly elections in state which is due by the end of this year, our seat tally will not improve at all.
He further said internal democracy within the party is a must otherwise, it will sink in the days to come.
Meanwhile, East Singhbhum district Congress president Vijay Khan alleged that Banna Gupta had broken party rules and criticized Ajoy Kumar in public forum. He said the district Congress would take action against Banna.
Notably, Banna had earlier denied receiving any show-cause notice from the district Congress head.
