NOTA voters decline in Jamshedpur seat

In the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, the number of voters in the Jamshedpur seat pressing the NOTA was lesser in the number than the previous elections in 2014.

JAMSHEDPUR: In the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, the number of voters in the Jamshedpur seat pressing the NOTA was lesser in the number than the previous elections in 2014.
In 2014, 15,629 voters pressed the NOTA, whereas 5678 voters opted for NOTA in 2019. The results of the General Elections were announced on May 23.
Meanwhile, in the Jamshedpur seat, which has Baharagora, Ghatshila, Potka, Jugsalai, Jamshedpur West and Jamshedpur East assembly segments, out of the 23 candidates 21 who fought the polls from this seat lost their deposits.

Only Mahagathbandhan's candidate from JMM Champai Soren could manage to save his deposit. Sources said counting for the seat was completed in 21 rounds. Champai polled in 3,75,671 votes whereas winning candidate from BJP Bidyut Baran Mahato got 6,76,249 votes.
Sarita Anand, an independent candidate polled in the lowest votes (1183).
