JAMSHEDPUR: The effort of the state government to provide a new market to the local micro small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) is yet to yield positive outcome even as the railways and defence departments of the central government evinced interest in exploring possibilities for procuring components from the local manufacturers.
Two separate teams from the two respective departments will visit Jamshedpur in December to hold a meeting with the entrepreneurs and assess the potential of the producers in meeting the demands as far as quality, quantity, design and development of the product is concerned.
"It will be business-to-business (B2B) dialogue between the visiting teams and the state MSME players wherein the mechanism for the procurement of the products will be discussed threadbare," said K Ravi Kumar, director of the department of
industries. He added that the guest teams, comprising senior and middle rung officials of two aforesaid departments, will demonstrate various products of railway and defence for better conveying of the specifications related to the products.
