JAMSHEDPUR: A man killed his elderly uncle and aunt on suspicion of practising black magic at Patamda block of East Singhbhum district on Monday night. Police said Sukhlal Tudu (30) hacked Orind Tudu (70) and his wife Koki Tudu (60) were hacked to death by with a sharp weapon while they were asleep.
Patamda police station in-charge Rajesh Kumar said the accused killed the elderly couple on suspicion that they used black magic to make his wife ill.
"His wife was not keeping well for the past year and he had taken her to a doctor in West Bengal and to an exorcist who told him that his uncle and aunt are practicing black magic on his wife," Kumar said.
Tudu went into hiding but was arrested on Tuesday morning after his neighbours informed the police. "The accused has been arrested and the bodies have been sent to MGM hospital for post-mortem," Kumar said.
