KANPUR: Former
chief minister Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday helped three ISKCON (
International Society for Krishna Consciousness) saints who were injured in a road accident near Tala Sarai in
Hasanganj area in
Unnao on Agra-Lucknow Expressway by getting them rushed to hospital in one of his convoy vehicles.
Akhilesh, who was returning to Lucknow from
Agra, stopped his convoy after seeing that a four-wheeler carrying ISKCON saints had met with an accident near Tala Sarai.
The mishap occurred after their vehicle turned turtle while avoiding a stray animal. The national SP president rushed towards the vehicle and helped the injured occupants to come out from the vehicle.
He then allotted one of his convoy car for the injured and directed his security officers to take them to the nearby Hospital and make the necessary arrangements for their treatment.
Two among the injured were rushed to Lucknow while one was treatment at a CHC in Hasanganj .
Sources at Hospital said that the occupants suffered serious injuries in the accident. “Their CT scan and MRI were conducted to rule out any internal serious injuries. They will be discharged soon," said a source at CHC Hasanganj.
Locals said that the former CM’s good gesture helped in getting timely treatment for the injured people. "The injured were profusely bleeding and former CM ensured all possible help to them," they said.
