KANPUR: SP national president Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday held BJP responsible for allegedly releasing ‘sex’ CDs in which Patidar leader Hardik Patel is said to be seen with a girl ahead of assembly elections in Gujarat. “BJP is behind leaking of CDs. They are experts in making and releasing secret CDs. They do this to increase their knowledge as far as one’s character is concerned. They should know that people are fed up with BJP and its GST and are not concerned with CDs,” said Akhilesh in his native village Saifai.
Akhilesh said BJP is hell bent on sinking India’s economy through its two torpedoes — GST and demonetisation.
“Such is the situation that the government itself is in a confused state and is implementing amendments in GST daily. This is making life even more complicated for the traders who are an angry lot these days. I have heard that BJP ministers are holding meetings with traders daily with the plea, ‘help us in win Gujarat elections, and we will make GST as per your convenience’.” On Sri Sri Ravi Shankar meeting chief minister Aditya Nath Yogi to resolve Ayodhya dispute in Lucknow on Wednesday, Akhilesh said: “Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is a great saint and even our chief minister is a great saint, I don’t know about what all issues were being discussed between them, so I won’t be able to comment over it right now.” He, however, said, “One should abide by the country's Constitution and final verdict of Supreme Court as far as Ayodhya dispute is concerned.” On Gujarat assembly elections, the former UP chief minister said, “People of Gujarat want change in the regime. We are fighting on five seats in Gujarat, besides we are appealing in favour of the Congress.” He also mocked at the BJP saying “why are they toiling so hard in Gujarat assembly elections, when they have given a bullet train to the state. It only reflects their fear ”. Questioned on Saifai Mahotsava, which his party used to organise every year in his native village, Akhilesh said: “This year there won’t be Bollywood night and cultural activities as everybody is busy in local body polls.”
