Five inmates escape from juvenile home in Kanpur

Five juvenile inmates managed to escape from the government juvenile home in Baudh Nagar area of Naubasta in the city on late Sunday night.

KANPUR: Five juvenile inmates managed to escape from the government juvenile home in Baudh Nagar area of Naubasta in the city late on Sunday night.
The district and police officials rushed to the spot and launched an investigation in this regard. The juveniles broke open the window grill and escaped by tying clothes together and then scaling down the walls of the multi-storey building, the police said.
"Five juveniles, who were lodged at the second -storey, broke open an iron grill from a window and escaped by tying clothes together and then scaling down the walls of the building," inspector Naubasta Samar Bahadur Yadav said.

The juveniles had escaped late on Sunday night, but the incident was discovered only during Monday morning breakfast attendance.
"The officials of the juvenile home noticed that the five boys were missing at the time of breakfast when the inmates have assembled in the hall on Monday morning," said the police.
Police questioned the other minors to find out the reason behind their escaping from the juvenile home. "Police teams have been formed and dispatched to possible spots to trace the absconding inmates," said SP South Raveena Tyagi.
To recall, four minor boys had managed to escape from the government juvenile home in Naubasta area of the city in February last year.
