KANPUR: Four minor boys managed to escape from the government juvenile home in Naubasta area of the city on Thursday.
The district administration has suspended four homeguards for dereliction of duty. The juveniles broke open the window and escaped by tying bedsheets together and then scaling down the walls of the multi-storey building, the police said.

The juveniles had escaped late on Wednesday night, but the incident was discovered only during Thursday morning breakfast attendance.
"The officials of the juvenile home noticed that the four boys were missing at the time of breakfast when the inmates have assembled in the hall on Thursday morning," said the police.
Police questioned the other minors to find out the reason behind their escaping from the juvenile home. "Police teams have been formed and dispatched to possible spots to trace the absconding inmates," said SSP Akhilesh Kumar and added four homeguards have been suspended for dereliction of duty.
