KANPUR: Angry over a JCB driver’s refusal to upload sand in a truck, two persons shot him dead in Mahoba district on late Sunday night.
The incident took place near Syondhi turn under Panwari police station of the district. The police identified the deceased as Paisani Pal, a native of Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh.
"On the basis of a complaint of JCB owner Raghvendra, we have lodged a named FIR against Shanu and Salman under Section 302 (murder) of IPC at Panwari police station,” said additional SP Bansh Raj Singh Yadav.

The victim, who used to drive the JCB of Raghvendra, was on his way to Syondhi turn, where he was intercepted by Shanu and Salman.
“The two thereafter allegedly forced him to stop and demanded to upload their truck with sand by using the JCB machine. When Paisani refused, one among them took out a country-made firearm and shot him at point-blank range. He died at the spot. The two thereafter escaped from the site in their truck,” said the police.
Other JCB owners present at the spot alleged that the local goons involved in illegal mining were harassing them often.
