KANPUR: A 20-year-old youth believed to have been murdered six years ago returned home alive in Kanpur Dehat, courtesy lockdown.
Govind returned from Mumbai few days ago, arriving by a Shramik Special train, said inspector Rasulabad Tulsiram Pandey.
The youth informed local police station through Dial 112 that he is alive and has returned to his native village Munaurapur, added Pandey.
The news of Govind's return made the family of one Sunil erupt with joy.
Sunil had been booked for allegedly kidnapping and killing Govind.
"We will inform court about his return. Sunil was arrested in 2016, and later released on bail," said the inspector.
Govind, who has been quarantined at Sneh Lata Degree college revealed that he had escaped to Mumbai.
