Man, paramour found dead in government school in Kanpur

A 30-year-old married man and his alleged paramour were found dead in a government basic school in Ghatampur area of the district early on Wednesday morning.

KANPUR: A 30-year-old married man and his alleged paramour were found dead in a government basic school in Ghatampur area of the district early on Wednesday morning.
Azad, and Meena (name changed), 19, both residents of Paraas village under the limits of Ghatampur Kotwali police station of the district, had allegedly eloped from their homes about two months ago.
It seems to be a suicide pact, said police, adding nothing can be confirmed until the post-mortem report comes.

Azad was married and his wife stays with her in-laws. However, he was into an alleged illicit relationship with a village girl belonging to a different community, they added.
"We have recovered a suicide note, besides sulphas tablets from the spot. We are going through the content of suicide note to ascertain as to why the they committed suicide," said Circle Officer Ghatampur Shailendra Singh.
Police further said that the incident came to light on Wednesday morning after locals informed that two bodies were found near a kitchen of the government basic school.
Thereafter, police rushed to the spot and launched an investigation in this regard. Police later shifted the bodies to mortuary for postmortem.
