KANPUR: City boy
Naman Gupta topped in the city by securing AIR 123 in JEE Advanced- 2019 examination, the result of which was declared on Friday. He scored 267 marks out of 372 marks. Earlier, Naman was among 15 students who scored 100 percentile in the first part of JEE-Mains conducted in January this year. In class X he scored 98 % while in class XII he scored 95%.
For Naman it was like a dream come true.
He gives credit of his success to hi sparents and teachers who always helped him and encourgaed him. A student of Dr Virendra Swarup Education Centre, Avadhpuri, Naman is an avid reader of science fiction. He had scored 98 % in class X and 95% in class XII.
“I never did anything special to bag the top position but just worked hard with right approach and dedication,” he said.
His mother Sandhya Gupta, who is a housewife, said “I am happy with Naman’s performance but I was expecting him to do better.” His father Ram Kumar Gupta is a locomotive pilot in the Indian railways.
Naman wants to pursue computer science from IIT Delhi or Kanpur. “I want to study computer science from IIT-Delhi or Kanpur,” said Naman. He loves playing cricket and badminton.
