KANPUR: Not only general voters, but many ‘VIP' voters were shocked after not finding their names in the electoral list, when they turned up to exercise their franchise at their respective booths for the civic polls.
The list includes the names of Unnao BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj, SP (Samajwadi Party) Rajya Sabha member Chowdhary Sukhram Singh Yadav and former Unnao Congress MP Annu Tandon.
BJP MP from Unnao Sakshi Maharaj blasted at authorities after he found his name missing from the voters list for the local body elections.

The MP, who had gone cast his vote at Unnao's Gadankheda polling booth on Wednesday morning, was shocked and angry after he could not cast his vote as his name was missing in the electoral list. He alleged that it was a conspiracy and demanded stern action against erring officials after which district election officer Ravi Kumar NG ordered a probe.
"I am an MP of Unnao and camping in the district since long. It is not just a mere lapse that the name of the MP is missing, but it’s a conspiracy against me," Sakshi Maharaj said while talking to media.
Similarly, former Congress MP Annu Tandon also could not cast her vote as her name too was missing from the voters list. Later, she lodged a complaint with the district administration. Tandon along with her family members had gone to excercise her franchise at Raja Shankar Sahai Inter college polling booth in Unnao.

Likewise, in Kanpur, SP Rajya Sabha member Chowdhary Sukhram Singh Yadav also could not cast his vote as his name was missing from voters list.
Yadav, who could not control his emotions, said, "It’s a serious issue and I will raise it in Rajya Sabha."
Sukhram, who arrived at a polling booth of ward no. 34 in Ratan Lal nagar area of the City, was shocked and surprised when he failed to spot his name in the list.
Speaking to media, Sukhram said he had apprised district election officials as casting his ballot was his fundamental right.
He also said he had been voting since long and was unable to comprehend why his name had gone missing.
