KOTTAYAM: Kerala Congress(M) acting chairman PJ Joseph ended all suspense regarding his involvement in the UDF’s campaign for Pala bypoll by stating that he will take part in the election committee meeting of the alliance, which will be held in Pala on Saturday evening. “I will be taking part in the meeting, which will be attended by leaders like Oommen Chandy,” he said.

Joseph also said that based on the discussions he had with the Congress leaders, he is hoping that “a favourable circumstance will be there”. All the prominent leaders of the UDF, including opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala and former chief minister Oommen Chandy will take part in the meeting and the timing of the meeting was scheduled according to the convenience of Joseph.
Joseph was yet to join the campaign of UDF candidate Jose Tom Pulikkunnel after the UDF leadership had pacified the leader who had threatened to launch a separate campaign.
The UDF sub-committee headed by convenor Benny Behanan had met here on Tuesday and assured Joseph that he will not have to face any unpleasant actions from the supporters of Jose K Mani during the election campaign.
