KOLLAM: Additional district court here restrained Kerala Congress (M) working chairman P J Joseph from choosing the new chairman of the party during the K M Mani commemoration meet held here on Wednesday.
The stay order was issued by the court on Wednesday based on a petition filed by Manoj B, Kollam district secretary of Kerala Congress (M). The stay order also directed the working chairman, who is holding the charge of acting chairman, to refrain from selecting chairman in any other meetings convened for any other agenda and through any process that violated the bylaw of Kerala Congress (M) regarding the selection of new president.

The K M Mani commemoration organized by the party was held here as planned and the meeting confined to the sole agenda of remembering Mani. Working chairman P J Joseph inaugurated the meeting in which vice-chairman Jose K Mani also spoke. Later, Jose K Mani said he was unaware of the court order and clueless about the motive of the petitioner.
