CBI arrests Pailan Group director

KOLKATA: The CBI on Friday arrested Bipin Kumar Singh, a director of the Pailan Group, from Sealdah in connection to its ongoing probe against the company. Singh is the first office-bearer of the Pailan Group to be arrested after the central agency started a probe following a Supreme Court order.
CBI sources on Friday said that Singh, who was coming from Delhi with his family, was arrested at Sealdah station.
He was taken to the CGO complex office of the agency. While the promoter of the group Apurba Saha has been absconding, CBI had last year conducted raids at Saha’s residence at Ballygunge and the offices of his company at Sonarpur and Joka.
The agency had also raided several other locations in Kolkata and places around the city.
