Kolkata: Woman killed at in-laws’

HOWRAH: An 18-year-old housewife, Papri Chakraborty, was allegedly beaten to death in her inlaws’ house in Uluberia on Saturday. Her husband Pratik Gonra and his family took her to Uluberia State General Hospital and fled on being told she was dead. The victim’s father Brindaban lodged a complaint against Pratik and his family, all of whom are absconding.
Brindaban said his daughter’s in-laws demanded money from him to allow her to continue her studies.SDPO Uluberia Md S Akhtar said, “We started a probe based on the complaint.”
