Kolkata youths held for murders in Port Blair

Two Kolkata youths, Sayantan Ghosh (21) and Debasis Roy (22), living in Port Blair's Garacharma area, were arrested in connection to a double murder case on Friday.

CHENNAI: Two Kolkata youths, Sayantan Ghosh (21) and Debasis Roy (22), living in Port Blair's Garacharma area, were arrested in connection to a double murder case on Friday.
The two suspects were arrested within 10 hours of the incident. Both Ghosh and Roy were remanded in prison.
The duo had entered a furniture showroom posing as customers around 3.30pm on Thursday.
They pulled out knives and stabbed a salesperson identified as Rose Cynthia (31), a resident of Shadipur. Hearing her scream, another salesgirl Padma Priya (22) came to her rescue. She, too, was brutally attacked. The duo later escaped from the spot after stealing cash from the safe.
Later, when some other customers noticed the two saleswomen lying in a pool of blood, they informed cops about the incident.
After hearing about the attack, Aberdeen police station house officer Sanjay Kumar reached the and sent to bodies to a government hospital for an autopsy.
The doctors at the GH examined and said the two had suffered more than 10 stab injuries from a sharp knife and had lost their lives due to excessive blood loss.
