Mamata Banerjee addresses Martyrs' Day rally in Kolkata
Will start 'BJP hatao, desh bachao' campaign on August 15, Mamata says
KOLKATA: West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee spelt out her party's strategy for the next Lok Sabha polls at Esplanade in Kolkata, the venue of the TMC's annual Martyrs' Day rally.
The TMC observes the Martyrs' Day every year on July 21 in its bid to pay homage to 13 Youth Congress workers, allegedly killed in police firing in 1993 during the Left Front regime in West Bengal. Banerjee was a leader of the Youth Congress at that time.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Martyrs’ Day rally, which the TMC has decided to turn into a mega political rally.
The party is expecting a record turnout and has launched campaigns across the state to galvanise support. The rally also comes a day after the no-confidence motion against the Modi government was decisively defeated.
What Mamata Banerjee said in her speech:
* TMC will get all the 42 seats.
* TMC doesn't spend money to bring people to its rallys and meetings. People come and join spontaneously. They come out of love.
* Former Rajya Sabha MP Chandan Mitra, former CPM MP Moinul Hasan, Congress's Sabina Yasmin and Mizoram advocate-general Biswajit Deb have joined TMC.
* We will start 'BJP hatao, desh bachao' campaign on August 15.
* The way lynching is happening everywhere in the country, they are creating Talibanis among people. In BJP and RSS, there are good people whom I respect but some are playing dirty games.
