KOLKATA: Four days days after three boys were killed in an accident at Rajarhat when their car spun out of control and rammed a Metro pillar, a youth from Mudiali escaped by a providential whisker when the hatchback he was driving turned turtle and crashed into a tree on Ballygunge Circular Road on Saturday morning.
Armaan Agarwal, 21, did not have his seat belt buckled when the car flipped and ‘drove’ into a tree.
In the early hours of Monday, three occupants in the rear seat of the car that had met with an accident in New Town had died. The driver who was also not wearing the belt was critically injured and is in hospital. “Thank god I survived without a major injury despite not wearing the seat belt. The airbags blew up and struck my face,” said Agarwal.
He was on way to Maidan from his Sarat Chatterjee home around 8 when a vehicle came speeding by his left and swerved dangerously to avoid a car parked ahead, triggering the accident.
