Kolkata: Momo shop co-owner murdered, one held

KOLKATA: A day after a 26-year-old man, co-owner of a momo shop near Mudiali in Tollygunge, was found murdered at his house, the Jadavpur police arrested his employee, Sandip Sardar from Barrackpore on Friday. Cops said that an illicit affair between the victim’s mother and the accused was the motive behind the crime.
Surojit Kole was found dead with severe head injuries in his house at Bijoygarh, Jadavpur.Police said Kole had come to know about his mother’s affair with Sardar in the past three months. “The victim started extorting money from the accused. A week ago, he had asked for Rs 1 lakh from the accused, who was not in a financial position to meet Kole’s demands. This prompted Sardar to kill him,” said DC (South suburban) Santosh Nimbalkar.
