Roads repaired, traffic controls set up as Kolkata warms up to Durga Pujas
Bengal government is working up plans to streamline traffic flow and road side beautification on the areas surrounding the Salt Lake stadium and on the main arterial road of New Town, keeping in view the ensuing Under-17 FIFA World Cup, the festive season to start with Durga Puja and the Bengal Global Business Summit, 2018 that is scheduled to be held early next year.

Senior officials of the Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation (Hidco) recently held a meeting with senior police, transport, metro railway, and Nabadiganta Industrial Township Authority (NDITA) to chalk up the plans.A committee headed by the Bidhannagar police commissioner would monitor the implementation of the plans periodically.
