KOLKATA: State fire and emergency services minister Sujit Bose, who tested positive for Covid-19 last Thursday, was admitted to a private
hospital on Wednesday with
fever. He also complained of mild breathing trouble. Doctors said Bose's symptoms were mild but recommended his hospitalization to monitor his condition.
Bose's wife Swarnali, who has also contracted the novel coronavirus, has been recommended home isolation.
One of Bose's office assistants, who tested positive after swab samples of 30 contacts were collected, has also been sent home after undergoing check-up at hospital.
The Bidhannagar MLA had remained asymptomatic till Tuesday and had been in home isolation. Under rest, he had been taking prescribed medicines.
After Bose tested positive, many senior fire department officers had to be home quarantined as they had come in contact with him during post-Amphan work as well as during his visit to the Bally fire station after a fire officer died.
