Back from Mumbai, Lucknow resident tests Covid-19 positive

LUCKNOW: ln a first such case in the city, a 21-year-old migrant, who had come from Mumbai, was diagnosed with Covid-19 on Wednesday.
The 21-year-old patient, a resident of Maal, worked as a tailor in Andheri, Mumbai, arrived here on Tuesday in Shramik Special along with 1,199 other workers. In all, 38 workers were from Lucknow.
On arrival, all were taken to Alambagh bus station where their swab samples were collected for testing before sending them home on a bus.

“They were asked to remain in home qurantine for 14 days. The test report from King George's Medical University on Wednesday confirmed that one of them had infection, while rest were negative. The positive case is asymptomattic, but has been admitted to Lokbandhu hospital. His family has also been asked to self isolate and will be tested,” said Dr Narendra Agarwal, chief medical officer (CMO).
The remaining 1,161 migrant workers were sent to their home districts Prayagraj, Jaunpur, Bahraich, Balrampur, Azamgarh, Badaun and Gorakhpur on UPSRTC buses.
When asked that the patient might have come in contact with his co-passengers, Dr KP Tripathi, in-charge district infectious unit, said "The 37 others from Lucknow are in home quarantine and will be tested again after few day. State authorities have been informed for communicating it to districts where other migrants of the same train had gone.”
