UP: Boys found writing maths exam for girls, 21 arrested

LUCKNOW: The special task force (STF) of UP police busted a copying rackets in Ballia and Ghazipur and arrested 19 persons during high school mathematics exam on Saturday.
The principal of an inter college and four others were arrested in Ballia, while a college principal’s son, who was also centre in charge, 13 solvers and two candidates were nabbed while solving the paper at the residence of a teacher in Ghazipur.
However, the principal of college and the teacher managed to escape.
SSP STF Abhishek Singh said, “Acting on a tip-off, we raided Mohammed Munir Muslim Inter College in Hathaori, Ballia and found boys writing the exam even though the admit cards they produced had names of girls.”
One nabbed youth Abu Bakar revealed that he was son of manager Ahmad Sahil Alam, who along with principal Anjani Kumar, used to arrange solvers for examinees and charged Rs 30,000 per exam. SSP said that solvers Dijvijay Yadav, Raj Vijay and Mohammed Atif who were writing the exam in place of three girls were arrested while the college manager is on the run.
“When the STF team raided Adarsh Kisan Inter College in Daudpur under Khanpur police station in Ghazipur, it found that the mathematics paper was being solved at the residence of a teacher Suresh Yadav. We found 15 persons solving the maths paper and arrested them,” said Singh. Suresh fled but his son Pankaj was arrested with 14 others.
Pankaj disclosed that he and his father used to charge Rs 30,000 from each candidate per exam. “They used to open the seal of question papers and got it solved at the teacher’s home. Next morning, the examinees who paid money were given solved answersheets during exam. Two examinees Chandan Paswan and Raj Kumar were also arrested,” he said. Police recovered 34 solved answersheets of Set-A maths paper and a guide. One answer copy of chemistry paper was also recovered. Manager Ramjanam Yadav and teacher Shailendra Yadav are absconding.
