Amid prevalent chaos and uncertainty over access to the essential services and commodities during the lockdown, we bring you the latest updates from Lucknow.
* Update at 2.38pm | 560 buses of UPSRTC were sent to Kota to bring back students who were stranded. Since it was a large number of students, Rajasthan roadways were asked to provide additional buses and also Diesel for UP roadways buses.
Payment made on May 5: UP deputy CM Dinesh Sharma.
* Update at 2.36pm | Mandatory for candidates to carry sanitiser, wearing gloves optional: CICSE on pending exams

Indian airlines to operate a total of 8,428 flights each week for the next three months from May 25 to August 25, after Central government announced the resumption of domestic flights, amid coronavirus lockdown.
* Update at 12.40pm: Yogi govt plans to plant 25 crore saplings this year
The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh plans to plant 25 crore trees in July this year, creating yet another world record of sorts. The drive is aimed at increasing the green cover in the state. The state government had created a record in the Guinness book of World Records last year by planting 22 crore saplings in a day.

* Barabanki records 104 corona cases in 24 hours
Barabanki district emerged as the new Covid hot spot in state with 104 new cases in the past 24 hours. As many as 95 of these cases were confirmed late on Wednesday night while the remaining were reported on Thursday. This was the highest number of cases reported in a single day in a district. About 50% of these patients were migrants. With this, the covid tally for Barabanki reached 133.
District officials said a group of person from Maharashtra arrived in the district last week. They had been quarantined at Hind Medical College.
* SC notice to UP on recruitment of asstt teachers
Recruitment of 69,000 assistant teachers in Uttar Pradesh continues to be mired in litigation as the Supreme Court on Thursday sought the state's response to a bunch of petitions filed by 'Shiksha Mitras' (educational assistants) challenging increase in the eligibility cut-off marks in the assistant teacher recruitment examination (ATRE) 2019. A bench of Justices U U Lalit, M M Shantanagoudar and Vineet Saran issued notice to the state government and posted the petitions for hearing in July.
* Toll free numbers for migrants
District administration has issued 4 toll free numbers where migrants willing to go back to their native state can get themselves registered. The administration will arrange transport for such migrants. Migrants from Bengal and northeast states have to register themselves by May 23, Bihar (May 24-25), Madhya Pradesh (May 26), Jharkhand and Odish (May 27-28) and other states (May 29-30). * UP slams Raj move to charge bus fare for sending Kota students
Close on the heels of the face-off between the UP government and Congress over 1000-plus buses the latter was offering to ferry migrant workers from the state’s borders to their homes, the Yogi government slammed Congress-led Rajasthan government's move to charge it Rs 36 lakh for transporting students from Kota to UP during the lockdown.
* New SOP: One out of five flyers will face pat-down
All passengers shall not be subjected to pat-down search during pre-embarkation security checks at domestic airports in view of Covid-19 threat, though at least one out of every five persons must undergo pat-down search and/or explosives trace detector search on continuous, random basis based on reasoned selection.
