LUCKNOW: The plying of erickshaws will be discontinued on 36 more routes in the city to ease traffic flow. Traffic department has already restricted the movement of battery operated e-rickshaws on 10 main routes as they cause traffic snarls. Now this count will go to 46.
“The routes will be finalised and movement of e-rickshaws restricted on them by second week of January,” said ARTO enforcement, Lucknow, Sanjeev Gupta.
The drive against e-rickshaws is a joint exercise of the transport department and traffic police. Once implemented almost entire city will be free of congestion due to e-rickshaws.
