Lucknow: House caves in at Gomtinagar, no casualty reported

LUCKNOW: A two-storey house caved in at Viram Khand here in Gomtinagar injuring a 90-year-old woman on Thursday evening. The incident also triggered fire at a house adjacent to it. Police said the situation was under control and the state disaster relief force had been informed for further assistance.
The house collapsed was owned by one Ashok Pandey.
Circle officer Gomtinagar, Avnishwar Srivastava said that nobody so far had been reported to be trapped under the debris.

Meanwhile, owner the of adjacent house Dr Jhata Rastogi vented her ire at the administration and Lucknow Development Authority for not stopping construction work despite many complaints.
However, owner Ashok Pandey, who is a worker with the Bharatiya Janata Party and stays at Vijay Khand, reached the spot soon and clarified that it was an accident.
Pandey told mediapersons that no construction work was being carried at the site and a blast triggered the collapse.
