Lucknow: Man targets woman using fake profile

LUCKNOW: A man made a video call to a woman from a fake profile, played obscene content and recorded the session and later threatened to leak it.
The 25-year-old woman from Gomtinagar said she had received a video call from the social media account of a female relative. When she received the call, the person on the other side turned the phone camera towards his laptop in which obscene content was playing.She disconnected the call, but he repeated the act thrice. In the last call, the caller revealed his face and showed her a clip of the video session he had recorded earlier with her face visible. He threatened her to keep talking or he would leak the clip. Gomtinagar SHO said, “Cybercell is tracing the account’s location. We will also inquire the woman’s relative.”
In another case, a social worker and ex-corporator lodged an FIR at Aashiana police station claiming that someone was using her photograph in social media account and posting abuses on profiles of her contacts.
