LUCKNOW: Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation's (LMRC) Managing Director Kumar Keshav on May 18 felicitated and encouraged a commuter Saurabh Jaiswal for showing honesty and humanity while returning the valuables left inside a metro coach.
On May 17, Saurabh Jaiswal had found an Apple iPhone mobile lying inside a Metro train in which he was travelling. He took the mobile and deposited it to the Transport Nagar Metro Station Control Room.
The Lucknow Metro then immediately took cognizance of the case and after inquiry handed it over to its rightful owner Abhinav Sharma, a resident of Faizabad Road.
Sharma received his mobile on May 17 from the Transport Nagar Metro Station.
Sharma thanked Jaiswal and LMRC for the appreciable act and was very happy for such a nice gesture from the Lucknow Metro. Keshav was quick to show the hospitality and immediately invited Jaiswal, a resident of Laccchi Kheda, Purwa Unnao, to LMRC’S administrative building in Gomtinagar on May 18 to felicitate and honour him. On the occasion, Keshav gifted him a Metro ‘GoSmart’ card.
Jaiswal was moved by the gratitude shown by the MD. Officials said, “Prior to this occasion, Lucknow Metro has displayed Lucknowi ‘tehzeeb’ on several occasions by returning the precious items of the Metro commuters which were unknowingly left inside the system during their travel in Metro.”
Lucknow Metro has often been receiving left over valuables of passengers inside its coaches which it makes a point to return to the rightful owner as soon as it enquires the details. As per its data, people mostly forget their mobiles, gadgets, bags and luggage inside the coaches.
